I'm trying to open a PST saved on a network drive in Outlook 98 but I get an error saying that the PST cannot be opened because it is already in use. However the user (username)is only logged into one machine. Other PST's can open. The PST in question is about 870MB. Any suggestions????

I saw this once before. If your user has not closed outlook since he last used the pst file, the machine still thinks it is in use. It was as simple as having the user close and re-open outlook. Hope it works for you. Vandy

Sorry the user has rebooted the machine, but that doesn't help. Thanks for the input, it does seem that outlook still thinks it's open at least that particular pst is open. I'm exploring whether or not outlook has some type of lockup feature where the PST may have to be released because it wasn't properly exited. I'll keep you posted on my findings. Thanks again for the input.
