When attempting to open a SSIS package with SQL Server Business Intelligence Studio (which opens Visual Studio 2005), we get the following error.

"Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation"

SQL Server 2005 is on SP3 and Visual Studio 2005 is on SP1, so we can't figure why we can't get the design screen for our SSIS package.

We can view the XML code in Visual Studio and can run the package using SQL Server's Job Agent. We just can't get the design view for this solution to load properly.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried opening the package using VS on a different computer? If that works then save it and copy it back to the first computer, and try opening it again - if it still doesn't open you might need to reinstall VS on that computer.
I'd also check what version of .Net Framework you've got installed on that computer, you need .Net Framework 2.0 SP2 installed.
