Had to replace one of the workstations on my network yesterday because the old one went down. Lickilly for these situations we have a spare machine that should in theory plug and play!
But no, When I plugged it in I went into control panel and told it to automatically opbtain an IP address. I also changed the name of the machine aswell to what it should be. This didn't seem to work though because when it did this it could not see any of the other machines on the network or the server.
If I put it back to it's old settings then it can see the rest of the network but can't map the network drive (S: Drive). And some of the programs we use that run over the network don't seem to work properly.
Any help would be much appreciated
Jon
