My network has a BCM50, a BCM450 and a CS1000E connected via SIP trunks. The customer can call from BCM50 to the CS1000 and from the BCM450 to the CS1000. When they try to call from the CS1000 to the BCMs reorder tone is received after a few seconds. If they try calling from BCM to BCM a protocol error message is shown on the phone's display. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

Attached is a copy of the SIP trace msgs.

Yes they are all set to CSE protocol. I am having trouble attaching the file.

If you do not have NRS set up, you would be able to do what you are stating. In the BCM, I assume you put the CS1000 Node IP in the SIP Proxy field. This allows calls from BCM to CS1000, but the CS1000 needs NRS working in order to send calls from CS1K to BCM.

Hope this helps
Rob

Yes the NRS is setup with the routing entries and the gateway endpoints but the calls still don't go through. I have tried to directly access the trunks by dialing the acces code for the route but with the same result.

could be a lot of things......you will need to turn on d-channel messaging on the CS1000 at the same time as you have BCM Monitor up. If you see the call hitting the BCM then the problem is most likely target line related. If you see the call leave the CS1K but never make it to the BCM, then you may have to start turning on the NRS debugs on the sig server. Common problems are call-type mismatch. The call type leaving CS1K needs to match the routing entry in NRS. Also, double check your SIP URI mapping in the Node.

good luck
