I have flash 5 and cannot output a movie that will fade an object. When I press play the object fades perfectly, however, when I test the movie it won't fade. I'm running XP with internet 6 but I doubt this anything to do with it. I've also viewed the movie with iexplore 5 with the same result. I've read several tutorials on how to do this but I must be missing something. Please help me out guys.

more details..what your saying will be hard to grasp without a link for us to look at..upload the file and let us have a look see..

I'm emailing this to virt2002, if anyone else is interested I'll send it to you.

when you use dynamic text you have to embed the font to be able to alpha tween it..

so in your text pallet where you selected dynamic text, embed the font outline..would be a good idea anyways because you are using "celtic"..which most systems will not have anyways..so when you publish your movie and a user views your page who doesn't have that font installed on there system, flash chooses the closet font on there system that matches it, and replaces..

could mess up your design..try using system fonts that are shipped with most mac's and pc's..arial, times, impact, etc..

have fun..

Still not working. I have tried embedding the celtic with no luck. It won't fade with any standard font either. So strange that it works when I preview but when I test the scene or movie, nothing happens. Any more ideas? This is a tough one.

this is not a tough one...i embed the font and it works fine..if all else fails and you can't get it to tween..use static text..
