Cannot logon

I have an HP Pavilion with XP Pro Service Pack 2.
After I enter the logon password and hit enter the system immediately logs me off. I cannot get into Safe Mode, BIOS setup, nothing.
I connected the Hard Drive as a slave on another computer and scanned it with AVG Free-nothing was found.
Any and all help would be greatful!

Well, BIOS setup has absolutely nothing to do with XP, so if you can't get into that something major is wrong. However, if the problem is only the XP logon process, you can probably find the answer in past discussions
