Hi,

On a windows 2003 server, a user is shown in terminal services manager as disconnectecd , but cannot log them off or remove their session (they have been there for 7 days). When you try this error appears:

session (ID 0)reset failed
(error 31 - a device attached to the system is not functioning).

I looked to try and restart the terminal service service, but the start and stop options are greyed out.

Rebooting the server isnt an option as it is the main file server for 9 offices. anyone have any ideas?

cheers

Is there any clue in the Event Viewer?

Have you tried using the command line version of the tool

RESET SESSION sessionid /SERVER:yourserver

Hope this helps.
