BCM 3.7

-cannot see telephony (java ok)

Today -
-rebooted
-Now when attempting to log into Unified Manager:
[Connection Failed] Business Communications Manager is not ready. Please try later.

I suspect HD or BFT but did do an arp command and not only is the BCM IP (.111) showing Dynamic but it shows 3 IP's on same MAC address.

Interface: 10.XX.43.83 --- 0x13
Internet Address Physical Address Type
10.16.43.111 00-06-XX-0c-c9-60 dynamic
10.16.43.205 00-06-XX-0c-c9-60 dynamic
10.16.43.206 00-06-XX-0c-c9-60 dynamic

I wonder if the network is the real issue here.

Further info from client

-There is also a message when trying to login to the BCM that says “Try again after Services are up”

-I noticed on the BCM Monitor tool that it doesn’t recognize any active lines on the LINE MONITOR tab It’s all blank.

-Could go to the Maintenance page this morning but not any longer....will not connect.

-The green LED lights on the front of the BCM keep flashing as well

I asked for more details on the LED's and pattern etc.

You can try connecting through telnet or serial cable, then run the universal profile. That has worked for me a couple times in the past. You will need to run the SSL certificate fix patch for 3.7 after running the universal profile to get the unified manager running again. Or, set the date via DOS CLI to something before January 1 2007 before running the universal profile.

It sounds like the Apache server hasn't started up. If I recall, that's what the lights on the BFT are indicating. It's been a while but you can go in through the serial connection. If you can access the box you go to a command prompt and enter the command net start apache. I don't recall exactly what directory you have to be in though. I guess you could start at the root and go from there.

Ifit starts up, immediately switch to your ethernet connection and see if you can get it. If so, it may only connect for a couple of minutes before it dies again. If that happens you might be looking at a drive replacement. I had this happen at a site a few years back and it was a real pain getting info out of it because we had to continually go back and turn that thing on manually every 5 minutes or so.

Good Luck with it.
