Cannot load twain driver

I have a Polaroid 640 dig. camera and cannot download images. The first message I recd. was "cannot load PDC Twain Driver - make sure it is installed" - now I get a message that says, " camera connection failed." I have no damage to my cords, etc., but I think a virus must have wiped out this driver. I uninstalled the software and reloaded it, and this didn't work. I also went to the Polaroid website and downloaded their drivers again - this
didn't work, but maybe I put the drivers in the wrong folder, I don't know.

I also have trouble with a message .exe file missing and I cannot use downloaded software for my grandaughter. I also get a plugin device message saying it is missing. Therefore, I can't open some pages on the Polaroid website.
Please let me know if you have ideas. I have a Hewlett Packard, Intel: Windows 98 software. My email is

Make sure to run a virus scan:
