Cannot join XP-Pro x64 to Win 2003 Server Domain

I've just installed a Win 3003 Server. All of our XP-Pro (32-bit) machines can join the domain but one running XP-Pro x64 fails. If I create an account for the machine on the server everything seems fine - I even get a message saying the account already exists and do I want to use it (so they must be talking to each other) but when I say "OK" the x64 sits and sulks for a few minutes and then I get a message saying the net name no longer exists. Any ideas?

Usually a DNS problem. make sure that the XP 64 machine has your internal DNS set and does not include any ISP DNS.
