I've recently upgraded an older HP NetServer LH 3000 from NT 4 to Win2k Advanced Server. The upgrade went smoothly and all is well except for joining the server back to the corporate NT domain.

When I attempted to join the server to our corporate domain,
I received the following error:
"The network request is not supported"

I've tried removing and adding the machine account several
times, I've tried adding the same machine under a different name in the domain, I've tried changing from the already existing static IP to DHCP enabled, I've tried updating the network adapter drivers and nothing seems to work.

I can ping the server and the loopback from the server, I can ping the server by name and IP from another computer on the network, I can get to the internet from the server and I can see the machines on the corporate domain but I cannot access them.

I've been trying to figure this out for two days now and I am pretty much stuck at this point. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Confirm that the domain controller has the latest service packs and the Advanced server is the latest service packs

Both the server and the domain controller are up to date on Service Packs.

Do you attempt to add the server via the network wizard? after you do that, does the new server show up in the server manager on your NT servers? or do you manaully add it before hand?

The machine account is added to the NT server manager manually before hand.

I'm attempting to join the machine to the domain by changing the Network Identification tab on the System/My computer properties window. The only options I have when using the Network Connection Wizard are "Dial Up to the Internet" and "Accept Incoming Connections", all of the other options are disabled (grayed out).
