Cannot install Suse 8.0 Pro on XP1800+ PC

I have also submitted a post under the Linux desktop forum for this.

I built a new PC using an Athlon XP1800+ on an Asus A7V333 board. Win2k Pro installed fine but when I attempt to install Suse 8.0 Pro (that I purchased) the motherboard beeps as if it is overheating. I can install Suse on other lesser Intel PCs without a hitch. I have not heard from AMD, Suse or Asus regarding this problem.

Any insight?
