Hi, trying to install RHEL v4 update 4 onto a new Dell without PS2 ports. There are only USB and the issue we face, as many others face as well, is the keyboard becomes unresponsive after the initial "linux ... " command whether it be gui, text or whatever I put in there for options including noprobe, nousb and others.

Is this just impossible or do any of you know of a way to get past this? I have been reading all over the place of others that are having the same problem but none of which offer any solution. Thanks!
Steve

I believe this might be a BIOS thing. Some BIOS have a setting for USB legacy keyboard/mouse ON/OFF while others have a BIOS setting for USB keyboard/mouse controlled by BIOS/OS.

Ya, that is definately the issue, unfortunately this bios does not have either option. They must now be neglecting that option in these newer machines. These machines just don't seem to support redhat or vice versa. Are there actual ps2 cards out there ;) ?
