windows 2000 advanced server
I have some users that i put into the power users group.they cannot add a printer. the only way they can add a printer is if i make them equal to admin..

I am a CNE and have not worked much with NT/2000 server.I know in novell you must give each person access to the print server etc...Is this the same case with 2000??

Thanks

If they are trying to add a printer to your w2k advanced server, they still won't have the rights. When you are using server, only certain groups have permission to log on locally (locally to the server). If you put them into the printer admin group, you won't have any more problems adding printers.

i cannot find a printer admin group? is this something i need to create?

If you are on the server machine, then you should find it once you are a DC. If you are on a professional machine, then you won't see it. Printer admins group is one of those default groups like schema admins and the like. I think you will only see it after you are a DC. Somebody help me out here.

Domain Controler. Basically it is the head server (or just one of many head servers). A DC is different from a file server or member server.
