Hello, my current Micros Server is version 5.2 3700 with EM installed.
I have a new server which I am installing Micros 5.7 too.
On the new server, I installed the Micros prerequisite and then installed Micros 5.7 (I have NOT installed EM)
During the Micros portion of the install, I chose to update the 5.2 database using a Backup from the night before (MICROS_2018_12_02_04_34.mbz5 but the Database failed to rebuild. (see results from the DB Manager below)
12/2/2018 1:35:17 PM Client trust passphrase change succeeded.
12/2/2018 3:24:30 PM Converting database: D:\Micros\Database\data\MICROS_2018_12_02_04_34.mbz5
12/2/2018 3:24:30 PM Restoring Micros backup file D:\Micros\Database\data\MICROS_2018_12_02_04_34.mbz5
12/2/2018 3:24:30 PM Decompressing backup file.
12/2/2018 3:24:36 PM Restoring passwords and encryption keys.
12/2/2018 3:24:36 PM Restoring passwords and encryption keys complete.
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM Rebuilding database file
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM D:\MICROS\Database\Data\Rebuild\MICROS.DB
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM Please wait...rebuilding definitions and data will take
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM a while. The actual time is dependent on the size of
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM the database and the computer hardware configuration.
12/2/2018 3:24:47 PM Find the collation compatible with current operating system.
12/2/2018 3:24:55 PM The compatible collation: 1252LATIN1 and the compatible charset: windows-1252
12/2/2018 3:25:10 PM ** Rebuild Failed! **
12/2/2018 3:25:10 PM Check Micros DMRebuild.log for errors.
DMRebuild:
SQL Anywhere Unload Utility Version 17.0.8.4148
Connecting and initializing
***** SQL error: Incorrect or missing encryption key
After this Fail, I created a new backup at the live store backing up the database plus the passwords and keys. I re-ran the rebuild on the new server from the cmd line (DM -U d:\micros\database\data\micros.db) Unfortunately, I received the same error message (below). I hope someone can help me with this error. I am confused because during the first restore the DB Manager finds the password and encryption keys but fails moments later during the rebuild process. Should I have installed EM before I tried to rebuild the database?
