Hello,

I have the following packages which I need to install to ensure that ColdFusion MX runs correctly on my Red Hat 6.7 box.

glibc-2.2.4-29.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.2.4-29.i386.rpm
glibc-devel-2.2.4-29.i386.rpm
glibc-profile-2.2.4-29.i386.rpm

However, when I try to rpm -Uvh *.rpm I get:

error: failed dependencies:
kernel-headers is needed by glibc-devel-2.2.4-29
kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 is needed by glibc-devel-2.2.4-29

Can anybody tell me why this is happening, and how I can get these latest versions installed.

Thanks!!

Your kernel version is too out of date to run the new glibc. Like Daniel mentioned, you need to update your kernel-header rpm to a newer version of the kernel-header package. This may entail a complete upgrade of the kernel. Its an easy process when using rpm. Just go to Red-Hat's site, and DL the new rpm package.

Whenever you get a dependency error, you simply need to install the rpm packages that its giving the error for...in this case, the kernel-headers package.

Hope this helps!
