Please help. I had been using WP10 out of the Corel Office 2002 Suite (OEM) for months now with no noted problems. However, due to another problem on my system (Stand-alone W2K)I began uninstalling any programs that were running prior to a shutdown that generated the following Application Error:

"Windows cannot unload your registry class file. If you have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator. DETAIL Access is denied. , Build number ((2195))."

Since I noticed that error when WP10 had been running prior to shut down, I uninstalled it. Then rebooted. And reinstalled it. That's when the problems started. I have been unable to open WP10 ever since; I keep getting that "Cannot Initialize" error. I did a Google search; no success in finding a solution. I tried the Corel site; their only suggestion - to delete the Vbox folder - did not apply in my case since I do not have that folder anywhere on my system. I have submitted a help request to the newsgroup, and am now trying here.

TIA for any help.

I have a similar problem and I have WinXP. I was able to install this while logged on as another user but when I try to run the program while I am logged on, I get the "Cannot Initialize" message. If I create a new "dummy" user I can also run the program. Any ideas as to what I should look for (in the registry?) for my user?

I have the same exact problem on WinXP. Did either of you ever find a solution?

I am not sure about the first question (from "balls"), but I might have an answer for the other two. The easiest solution would be to create a new user account under XP and try running WP again. If this works, then some files/directories are probably missing from the "problem" account. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings to see all of the user accounts. Go into one of the users folders that can run WP, then go into the My Documents folder, to see what directories they have. Compare that list to your directory. You may find that the Corel User Files directory is missing. If so, just copy it from another users directory into your own and try again.

Worst case scenario, re-run the WP install program when you are logged in as the user that can't run WP. This should do the trick.

If none of the above works, it may be that the "problem" user account doesn't have appropriate rights to the WP application directory.

If the above information didn't fix your problem, let me know, so we can try something different.

This version of Corel is decidedly ungracious about uninstalling. You will have your best luck inserting the installation disk before trying to remove the programs, but you will still have problems with registry items left behind. If the uninstallation is not completed on the first round, you will probably have to do it by hand. This means erasing all registry references to the program by hand (Back up registry first, of course) and deleting all word perfect folders.

There is a step by step instruction for this on the Corel support site. Plan for a couple of hours to get it done. Pain but possible.

I am an administrator using windows xp and have installed it as admin. I go to the user side and cannot open it get error cannot initialize. I tried to install it as a user no such like. What can I do?
