Cannot import an Excel sheet to create a new list

Hi there,

I have the following problem when I try to create a new list based on an excel spreadsheet. When i try to import an excel sheet, after i select the fields which i want to import i get an error stating : cannot connect to the server at this time. Your list cannot be published.

I have allready tried to install service pack 1.0 for wss and sp1 for sharepoint portal server. But it doesn`t solve my problem.

Does anybody has an solution for this problem ? Please help.
