Hi All, I hve some confusing problem in SMS 2003, I have tried to push an Adv client to some client which in different Subnet of network & different vlan as well, the file is received & installed well to client target, but I cannot get any feed back to SMS console about client info such as Type of client, Obsolete, Site code etc, when I check to the client I also get
sms component status just say "installed" not enabled or disabled.(I try to client which in same subnet & vlan all run well)

I have also put all different network to site boundaries, and theyre also have routing between them(so I can ping, share folder),

any body can help me why I cannot grab client info such as Type of client, Obsolete, Site code etc whre the client is in different subnet/Vlan ?

Hi all,
forget to say "I`m sorry with my bad english"
hope you understand what I have said

I would suggest you look at your boundaries again, if the subnet is 10.10.1.0 and you put in 10.0.0.0 you might have a problem try 10.10.1.0

are you using ad sites? has the site ip for that vlan been configured?

Thanks for the response,
basically I don`t have any permission to extend the AD or modfying it container. pls advs if any relation to this problem.

I already check to boundary configuration and has correct.
I let you know that my netwotk is

10.10.1.0 - 255.255.254.0

is there any problem with my subnet mask ?

SMS really wont worry about the subnet mask so much, so if your saying you didnt extend the schema did you manually register your slp, cap and mp in wins? if not you will need to do so so the clients can figure out where they belong.

If you're not using WINS, then you need to Extend the schema. If you aren't allowed to extend the schema, you need configure your site to use WINS.

Hope this Helps.
