CANNOT GET "FIT SECTION" TO WORK IN SUBREPORT

Forgot to mention in the thread for crystal decisions 4 that I am using Crystal Decisions 9. Is this in fact the correct forum for Crystal 9ecisions 9????

I created a subreport and placed it on my main report.
I cannot get the "white space" out of above and below the objects in the subreport. I have used the "fit section" option in both the design and preview modes but no go. I've tried resizing in the preview mode but no go, won't resize. In the design mode I have sized the detail section to fit the one object. I am using the "can grow" option because the command sql pulls up one or more objects asociated to each employee number. The employee number in the main report is linked to the employee number in the subreport.

Any help is appreciated.
