Cannot get Pics/Graphics to Display

OK, I have been fighting with this for awhile now. I created a Virtual Directory within the default website. when i access the site, everything works fine but the graphics and backgrounds donot show. all the pics are in the same directory as the app. the app in under the

http://wwwroot

folder. what am i doing wrong?

can someone explain this to me. or give me some direction on how to setup a site in IIS..
