cannot get online, but can see router

Hi all, i got a linksys router for use with my cable modem, ive got one xp pro machine, one 98 se, and one 2k, the router is acting as dhcp and gateway, the 98 and 2k cant see each other, (thats good) but can both get on the i net, the xp cant see the 98(again good) but can see the 2k (good, thats how i set it up so i did a good job), but the xp cant get to the net, it gets an ip, and the gateway from the router, and can ping every machine, i fiddled with the ie setting to no avail,

im at a loss, any ideas, sorry if i forgot to mention anything, the router is a linksys befsr41, i think thats it, no server, its peer to peer, hmm
