I’m trying to exclude(globally from this server)all .kde and .pid files from being backed up from my Linux file servers, I have set exclusion but they don’t seem to work. The .kde files are with a .kde directory, the .pid could be any place.

First off, I tried editing the policy the job, in this instance it was the home areas, I browsed to the areas selected insert/exclude and it automatically filled in the fields, ,/home, for path and then I entered ‘*.kde’ for the files (excluding quotes) – it did not work.

Next I tried to set a global exclusion using Symantec guidelines (doc and this hasn’t worked either, also, I noticed that when setting the global exclusion the path is different, being //*/*/**/*.kde \SUBDIR\EXCLUDE

Can anybody help me in getting this to work.
