Cannot get ASP pages to upload

I have Windows XP pro. I've installed IIS5.1 from the Windows Components section. I've checked the application settings in the IIS console. But, I still cannot get asp pages to load. I have the same problem on both my laptop and desktop. Whatever I'm doing or not doing, I'm doing that twice.
Help.

Have you tried serving the pages via another application, like Dreamweaver, or just typing the url (e.g.

http://localhost/whatever.asp/)

into your browser? I have a problem where I cannot browse pages from the IIS console, but IIS seems to be working nevertheless when I browse to pages via the browser or f12 in Dreamweaver.

Not sure if this can solve your problem, but i had a similiar problem in the past. Uploaded ASP pages to IIS's root directory and yet when i try to launch that ASP page from my browser, it is unable to run the asp script.

The problem was not having Frontpage server extensions. Once i installed that in IIS, my ASP pages worked fine. You might want to check and see if you have Frontpage Server Extensions installed.
