I cannot get 5235 IP phones working on ver 6.0 HX. it keeps on giving an error (SIP server..... (something))

is there anyway that i could get this phone working....

thanks guys...

does anyone know the answer please..............

thanks

Most of us are wondering why it would be giving you a SIP error.

The rest might be wondering what an HX is.

Lack of info = Lack of response.

hx is the mitel 5000 chassis. 6.0 is the latest version.

that being said, im not sure there is support for that phone on the 5000 since it builds on the Inter Tel 5000

has someone put the phone in SIP mode for a reason? Try resetting it to minet mode to see. Not sure the 5000 supports that model though...its not listed as supported anywhere I can find.

hi guys

thanks for the reply.

yes it is on minet mode but still i cant get this thing working. i can get 5212 working on 5000 HX. i believe that 5235 is a newer phone than 5212.
these phones are currently working on a 3300 system and we need to upgrade this system to a 5000 HX but we cannot do this upgrade because of this issue.

thanks guys

As NTEDave already mentioned the 5235 is not a supported IP set on the 5000.
Documentation reference Installation Manual 5000 CP, Table 71 on page 367.

As for the comment upgrading from a 3300 to a 5000 is moot.

Upgrade 3300 to 5000? [rofl]

Also, for the record, the 5235 is older than a 5212. Not by much but older none the less.
