I have been using VPN successfully for several years to connect to my office server.
About a month ago I started getting the message that I could not establish a connection to my host server because the system could not generate the sspi context.
The problem is that I have no trouble getting connected when I log on to my system. However, after being connected for 10 to 15 minutes, and not accessing anything on the host server vpn seems to drop the link. Then, when I try to access something on the server I get that message.
VPN is still up and running. I can ping the server and I get no errors.
I then have to close everything and log off and then log back on. Once I do that, I am connected fine.
I am thinking that VPN looks for the SSPI data in two different places. When I first bring up VPN, it finds the SSPI data, but when it tries to re-establish the link to the server it seems to be looking somewhere else and doesn't find it.
Of course, I could be wrong and it isn't even a VPN problem, but I sure would appreciate some help and insight on fixing this.
I am using Microsoft XP version 2002 service pack 2.
Most of my errors come when using SQL Server. But I do get errors with Crystal Reports and Explorer from time to time.
