Hello all,

I set up a NAM with vm 4.1 as an upgrade from their former Startalk Flash system.

All is working great, except that when they try to forward a copy of a message to another mailbox, they get as far as typing in the number of the mbox, and hitting "ok" or "send" (I forget the prompt), and then the message "cannot continue" comes up in the display and the system exits.

Otherwise, the mboxes work fine, the ccr is fine, the aa is fine....what gives?????

This happens on at least 3 boxes and probably on all of them (I only tested 3).

Any thoughts?

Thanks a million.

Do a courtesy shutdown, then bring the NAM back up. I believe you may have cross-linked files on the NAM. What KSU is the NAM on? And, are you sure that it is a 4.1 Nam? I have seen this problem with a down-level NAM, but not on a 4.1

Can you tell me what you mean by a "courtesy shutdown"? Is there a way to do it through the telephone interface? I don't have a keyboard or screen attached to the NAM at this site.

Thanks MarvO.

Yes, go into feature 915 and look for the Shutdown prompt.

I always use the GRACEFUL shutdown. That way, it waits until all users are out of v-mail.
You will hear decending tones from the NAM. Wait for the tones before unpluging the NAM. Wait about 15 sec. before plugging it back in.
Hope the re-boot corrects the problem for you.
