Cannot find Tree or Server

Hi, all of a sudden scattered workstations on our lan are unable to connect to our Netware 5 server. Some are able to. Or it takes a few tries and eventually they can connect. Once connected all is fine. No errors on console, utilization low. Seems like some sort of bottle neck.

Things I've tried:
reboot server
replace cable from server to switch.

Any suggestions?

Bad switch????
Rat chewing through some of the network cabling.

Switch some of patch cables in the switch of the workstations that are having NO problem connecting with ones that are. If the problem follows, it's probably the switch.

Well, you might be right about the switch even though no other servers are not having any problems. But I did unplug the Netware server from the Adtran switch and plug it into one of our 3Com's and the problem seems to have stopped. The Adtran is end of life and has locked up on us a few times.
