I have a few Crystal Reports(cr8 developer)that I have written and/or modified and emailed to a client.
They have been returned to me with requests for further changes.
I'm able to open them here, make changes and save them. Any subsequent re-open attempt generates the message"xxx.rpt cannot find this file. Please verify that the correct path and file name are given" where xxx is the name of the report.
Although I'm browsing/selecting the report via the file/open feature of Crystal and am able to locate and select the file, the result is always(for these few reports)the same.
I am able to open the file and make changes, but, after saving or saving as, the object is rendered unusable and can't be further opened/modified.
Should I make one change and do a save as, immediately followed by a second change and a save, I get crw32.exe errors with the associated log message and forced shutdown. When I open the report the first time, the diskette icon is immediately available as though a change has been made(one has not)and any attempt to simply close without saving results in the save changes? prompt.
When this is answered with a no,a "Font is still in use" message appears. I thought that maybe something unusual had occured at the clients site, but using the versions that had not left my office produces similar results.
Crystal has been uninstalled / reinstalled with no change in the behavior.
