Cannot find object 'Databases'

I am receiving the following message when attempting to execute a database:
The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'Databases'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly.

I'm not sure what has happened or how to correct as I was working yesterday in the database without any issues.
