I'm using Progress 8.3C on a win2000 bladeserver.

When starting a database using ProControl (or stop and start ProService) the database will not start. The message 'Cannot find lock (.lk) file ...' is displayed.

The eventviewer contains the error 'Shared memory in use by a process other than PROGRESS. (8872)'.

I've already set the environment variables 'ACCESS=ALL' and 'ACCESSGROUP=Everyone'.

How can I solve this problem? Now I have to restart the server everytime I've shutdown the database.

That means your database is shuted down. Try start database using progress explorer tool or type dbman dbname -start to command line

Check the .lg file for you database. It might give you another hint as to what is wrong.

Good luck,
Debi
