Since I seem to have broken the thread by pasting in the form which I can't open (so sorry - I don't usually have that great an impact) - let me continue here. I seem to be in more trouble than I thought. Having created a new form with a similar structure (but no visible documents.) I again get the error. There is surely no reference in the new form and apparently none in the original. I suspect this is more of a registry issue, and am going to see if I can either repair or reinstall Paradox. Please stand by (or voice an opinion - yours tend to be valuable.)

Well, could there be an ALIAS pointing to that drive?

That, or this sounds awfully like the MSI error that keeps coming back despite having intalled everything.

What version of Paradox? Full version, that shows the service pack level would be good.

It is P8, full version - 8.00.174
PDox has been reinstalled with the same results, not only with this one form but with others.

Fortunately the mother file and form seem to be uneffected. So what, precisely, is an MSI error (the first two letters give me a clue).

Am rerunning the query, despite the fact that I had worked it over for a while, and I am trying to rebuild a form for it, in the hopes that the file was somehow corrupt.

What's your take? JLL

Update (up til now)
I have erased and rebuilt the file and the form. So far there are no problems. I would like to think it was the table that was corrupted, but another form in another folder showed the same behavior. I am holding my breath. I'd love to know what caused it.
