Hi All,
I have a new machine running XP with IE6. All was well until I attempted to install and run a piece of software that came with the machine called Internet Keyboard which makes PF Keys go to pre-determined sites. I had a look, decided it was not for me and uninstalled it. Since then, my Internet access appears to have been cut down. I can no longer access pages that are .asp pages, and it seems that cgi stuff is a no-no too. Now it may just be coincidence that IE6 has gone a bit screwy, but I smell a rat. The software seems to have uninstalled OK, but I don't know what to do to get full functionality of my IE6 back! Any ideas anyone?

Having searched the Microsoft Knowledge base, it appears that sme prgram do cause this 'the page cannot be displayed message' and as I can find nothing specific to this software, I'd like to repair or reinstall IE6. What's the best way to go about this?

You can do this via Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. You may have to click Window Setup on the of the window. You can tell XP to either fix or just reinstall IE.

It gets worse and worse. Usng Q318378, I edited the registry and set the IE6 installed flag off. Went back to MS site and downloaded IE6 ok, but when it tried to install it said that a component failed the XP Logo test and could not install. It's from Microsoft, how can it fail it's on test!!! AAAARGHH!

It's time to bite the bullet I think and ring the manufactorer and get them to sort it out.
