Cannot find archived email

A user archived her year 2001 GroupWise (ver 5.5)email. Later, when she tried to open an archived emai, nothing came up. I searched her hard drive and the server for the archive directory, but it is simply not there. Now she wants her email back. How can I restore her year 2001 email?

What directory is listed for Archive location under Tools/Environment/File Location? This should indicate where the files are SUPPOSED to be. Then deal with restoring from a backup if necessary and assuming there is a backup.
