I hope this isn't too general a question, but, I added a directory to some executables in the system path, but I'm still getting:

'blah' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I've checked PATH. It has been appended to the end.
The path is not too long, so typing the full path causes the executable to run, just wondering why it's not getting referenced in PATH.

TIA!

Have you checked the usual suspects:

Is the spelling of the directory correct
Is it separated from the previous entry by a ;

If you type path, then type "dir " and cut the directory of the path you have added and paste it after dir, can you see the executables?

D'oh! I found what I did wrong. I'm so used to putting paths between double-quotes that I automatically ended my path with " (and I assumed the system path began with one when it in fact doesn't)
So the directory was being seen as C:\Dir\Subdir"

Thanks for getting me to scrutinize it more though!
