Cannot Drop Tables

I have created a new database and a few tables within it. I can Select and Delete from the tables with no problems, but when I try to Drop them nothing happens. The query just hangs. It's as though the tables are some how locked, but currently I am the only user on the box.
I am using SQL Assistant.

Can anyone help please?
