Cannot dowload mail

I have an exchange server running exchange server. The exchange server uses the pop3 connector to download mail from an ISP. Recently the server has ceased to download any mail at all. I now get numerous errors in the event log regarding the pop3 connector every time the server pops the ISP the error is as follows

POP3: An error occurred during a POP3 transaction to host <mail.isp.net.au [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]>. For user <xxxx>. The error is 10061

The x's denote the isps ip address and mailbox user name

I have also recieved the following error and feel this could possibly part of the problem

The database &quot;First Storage Group\Public Folder Store (PCS)&quot; has 1 megabytes of free space after online defragmentation has terminated.

If anyone has ideas please it would be greatly appreciated....

can you ping the mail server pop3 name and receive a repsonse? sounds like you are making connectvity and your pop3 host at the isp is refusing your connection. Have you called them?

don't worry about that online defragmentation message. Thats a normal exchange procedure. It's just telling you that the pub.edb file was cleaned up and now has 1 mb free before it begins to grow in size again.
