Hi there, I am have a service called ACLIST, the image path is missing and the server keeps trying to start the service every few seconds it writes to the event log saying service failed to start, even when I set the service to disabled and reboot it sets back to automatic, I do not know what this service was. I have tried to delete it using SC DELETE and it says successfully deleted, but when I reboot it's still there, I also tried deleting the registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services, everytime I reboot it also puts these back in again.

Any ideas anyone? Thank you.

Dave

VSS, possibly reinstalling it.
Did you search the entire registry for ACLIST, removing all entries.
Check your startup entries via msconfig.

Hi technome, thanks for the response. I checked the msconfig startup and there are only a 3 entries none of which relate to this, I deleted all the references in the registry as well, which re-appear on reboot.....weird.
