Cannot define columns for text file on DTS Package

Hi All
I'm trying to make a tab delimited text file out of a query that works fine , but when I go to define columns from the source query on the text file all I get is blank and nothing gets populated, then when I try to go back and define columns again the MMC just crashes.
Can anyone helpme on this?
