Cannot create pcguest account.

Whenever I create the pcguest account and ATTEMPT to do anything with the password it ALWAYS comes up with a "Authentication token manipulation error"

Any one have any ideas? James Collins

Hi,

Might be pam related... Do you have :

encrypt passwords = yes

in smb.conf ? If so you may need to synchronise the samba and linux 'passwords' even if you didn't set a linux password to prevent the account being used to logon normally. E.g do :

/usr/bin/smbpasswd -n pcguest

I am unsure what you mean. I can install this the exact same way on other machines and it be fine. But this particular one I run into the Authentication token manipulation error when trting to set the password for the pcguest account. I have reloaded several times with no effect. Any other ideas?
