Cannot create NDPS Printer Object in NWADMIN32/Netware 6

Hello,

Adding an HP2430 printer to my network and cannot create an NDPS printer object in NWADMIN32 due to the "RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SERVICE" not being enabled. When I go into the NDPS Broker on the server I try and enable RMS, when I do I get the following error message:

"The broker could not enable the RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SERVICE. Error Code -613."

I have 4 perfectly functioning HP's on my network all NDPS and DO NOT want to delete them and recreate them if at all possible. Anyone seen this before? Thanks very much in advance!

That has nothing to do with your printers.. no need to delete them. The Broker is a separate piece you deal with different than the printers themselves.

Not familiar with that particular broker error.. but sometimes broker errors happen when DS is hosed.

Thanks for the reply, the reason I mentioned the Broker is that there is a TID about deleting all the printer objects in order to get the RMS to work. Its a strange issue.

DS in my case is fine, did a DS repair before I attempted to create the NDPS Printer. Always do this as a rule to avoid potential issues. On DS version 8.7.3 SMS. May have to call Novell on this one...

Deleting and recreating 4 printers will take you all of 2 minutes... Just make sure you give them the exact same names they had and all the workstations will never know anything changed.
