Hi,

We are running an Acces database on a server which has reports that many people access via a desktop shortcut. A couple of people are having the problem were a meesage appears saying - "cannot create lock file".
Ive checekd permissions to the folder and file and all staff have full access to the database.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Laura

Have you checked folder permissions as well:

'the .mdb file should be located in a folder where users have read, write, create, and delete privileges'

Yeah, the folder and the folder above and the mapped drive all have full permissions for all staff and administrators (all our staff are local admin).

Thanks for suggestion

Have you looked on the individual machine to see what their locking is

Hope this helps
