I am working on an existing database in order to make modifications for its primary user. She needs a form to do a part price lookup, so I created a new form to input the part number and price into. Since lookups require a view to work from, I have created a new view using a blank template in order to show only the Part Number and the Part Price. Problem is, when I go to that view after making a price entry, it is at the very bottom of the screen. When I click on a "blank" entry above it, it brings up a record from an entirely different form.

Any suggestions as to what I may be missing? Thanks in advance.

The place of a view in the view list depends very much on its name.
I also hope you created a Shared view, and not a Private one.

What is the name you gave the view ? And is it shared or private ?

This looks like you don't have a selection formula to filter out the documents from other forms. This is why you have a whole lot of blank space. They are actually documents that don't contain the field that your columns are programmed to display. That's why they are blank

In the selection formula of your new wiew you need:

Select FORM="FormName"

FormName is the name of your form and is case sensitive.

This will only show documents created by the pricing form you mentioned. Don't forget to make the first column a sorted column otherwise the lookup won't work.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, ABOzIT! You were dead-on with your solution. Still being kind of green on Notes, this is something I had overlooked, as I hadn't clicked on the blank area within the Designer view to see the SelectForm. Once I changed it, the view did as it was supposed to. Thanks again!
