Hello!

While trying to startup IDS Server, i'm getting this quite weird messsage 0183 (cannot create a file when that file already exists). But there's no way in which I can find the name of this file that cannot be overwritten. And I couldn't find absolutely anything refering to this error associated with Informix.

Does anybody have a clue? It's a windows message, but i couldn't find anything even with Microsoft.

Thanks a lot!
Have a nice day!

Hi,

To find more about the problem occured at database server instance, look at the message file located at a path gathered by this command:

findstr "MSGPATH" %INFORMIXDIR%\etc\%ONCONFIG%

You may also start verbose mode the database instance using the following syntax:

oninit -v

see how for the shared memory initialization process goes ahead.

Please post these outputs to this forum so that we can get back to you with more conclusive solutions.

Shriyan
