Hello,
I have a very odd problem. I'm trying to migrate user data, across the network, from a couple of NTFS volumes on a Windows 2000 server to new Windows 2003 hardware. Some files, of differing types, report the error 'Cannot copy file (87) The Parameter Is Incorrect'. I've tried using XCopy, Robocopy and even Windows Explorer. I've also had the same problem copying from some XP workstations to a server volume, and vice-versa.
I am doing this when logged in as a Domain Admin and have full permissions to the source and destination.
I can open the files and 'save as', so the files don't seem to be corrupt. The file path and file names don't contain any illegal characters, and the path length is fairly short.
I have Googled for a solution but drawn a blank.
Any advice greatly received.
Cheers.
