Hello all,
I built a new client, Sempron 3000, Biostar board, runs fine but only 64 MB RAM until tomorrow's delivery. I loaded it with Win2K from an OLD disc, circa 2001. In the past I have not done the Windows Update thing before joining the domain, I let SBS push all the updates and IE 6.0 etc to the client and it has been fine. This time at ConnectComputer I get a 403 "You are not authorized to view this page" instead of the SBS setup screen.
I am trying to connect it to our SBS2003 SP1 domain over a wireless link, encrypted, but I have done this in the past too, although not since SP1. I have the NIC properly configured and I can ping the server, and get to the Internet, just not join the domain.
Are there some new client restrictions in SP1? Do I have to do the interminable Windows Update before connection? Could the 64 MB RAM have anything to do with it? Could the wireless connection be affecting anything? I have the internal NIC disabled. Anything to save me some time would be appreciated. I am going to start downloading Windows Updates right after I install AV. Thanks as always!!!
Tony
