I cannot connect a Windows XP Pro computer to a domain? DHCP is not running, using static IP and can surf the web via switch and router. Cannot see other workstations??? Cannot remember if system had SP2 or not...

The computer/WS has been setup in the Active Directory on Windows 2000 Small Business server as well as user.

Cannot find any workstations or server via search!

Thanks for any help!

also you may need to join the workgroup before you can join the domain. We use nt4 here and if i have anew pc to add to the etwork have to join the workgroup (same name as the doamin) then re-boot, and then join the domain- final re-boot and it is ok.

Might be the same problem- worth a try.

bchizary,

Those are exactly the steps I use for my unattended installs.
