Both are brand new items.
I have a brand-spankin' new HP Pavilion that has a Ralink 802.11n internal wireless card and Vista Home Premium. The system type is 64-bit OS. Drivers for the wireless card were last updated August 2008.
Since my previous router did not support 802.11n, I purchased a new router that did support 802.11n in addition to 802.11g for my other devices. The network is set up for WPA-personal and the router generated the key (which I copied and pasted to notepad and a USB drive).
My current issue is that the computer barely detects the network. I maybe get one pip and that's it. The wireless router is probably 15 feet away (give or take a couple of feet) in the next room. I am currently posting this message on my laptop, which has an 802.11g card at all pips (Excellent).
I have moved the router around and moved the computer around in the event that something was blocking the two items from talking.
Any alternative ideas for me to try? I'd hate to return the computer as there is 7 GB of RAM install...but will if its the cause of my headache.
