All of a sudden over the weekend, my connection to the IP office 403 (2.1.24) unit (remote) fell through.

I visited site, and it suddenly came back (through no intervention - and the ADSL connection - separate to this also came back online at the same time). After making a change on the switch and re-booting it disappeared off the network again.

It was connected to the network switch via port 8 (uplink). I can send a ping request to the switch IP address, but it times out, bar a few replies - spaced too far apart to get any kind of connection.

I cannot connect direct to it either using my laptop, same thing, no switch available on the network.. and no ping replies. I have tried plugging into other ports as well, but no joy. The phone switch has been re-booted as well.

Has anyone else come across this strange behaviour? or a work around? There is no IP address conflict on the network that I can see either.

open up the cfg offline and check the ip routes i always put the local ip address of the system in their pointing to LAN1.

if you have routed all routes to the web for example you will need to correct the cfg default the system (through the backdoor) and reload the cfg.

hope this helps mate

IProute has an entry 198.168.99.x to 'Remote Manager' (which was the old IP address range).

The network IP address had to be changed recently to 10.1.0.x .. after this we have been experiencing problems..

So if i connect a Laptop with that IP Address range 198.168.99.x will I get a connection from LAN1, even though the switch has a Physical IP address of 10.1.0.4 ?

How can I physically change something to allow me a connection again when i cannot connect via Manager. The Mangt port does not have the lovely interface allowing the change of things like this..?

If I remember correctly, there was a 2.1 build that had that issue where the IPO didnt respond to tftp requests. I remember this happening with one of our customers. Try rebooting the IPO. That should free it up so u can connect to it. You should upgrade it to 2.1.35.

Well.. onsite yesterday, and finally diagnosed the problem..

1. A wire had been looped back into the Data Switch

2. A machine on the network would casue the IP phone switch and the ADSL router to become unreachable. afer a restart (and a reconfigure of it's DNS entries) it works fine for a short while and then everything goes off again!

In short not an issue with the phone switch at all.. BUt thanks for all your replies.

Also I was advised .27 was the best update to install..
