Help. I am new to Crystal Reports and trying to complete a year long project and have been stopped on the 98 yard-line because I can't seem to generate a run-time report in Crytsal. I have ordered a book for Crystal Reports 7.0 but it will take 7-11 days to get in.

I am using VB 6.0, SQL Server 7.0, Crystal Reports 7.0. I have written a VB front end to an SQL Server database and am trying to create some Crystal Reports incorporated as part of the front-end VB executable.

- I have a data environment designer in my VB project that connects to a single table.
- I then add the crystal report designer 7.0 and the Expert for it automatically launches.
- From "Report Gallery Window" I chose the standard report model.
- Then, from the Data Tab of the following window I click the "Data Environment" button. In the "VB Data Environment" window that appears I can see my DataEnvironment1 object from my VB Project. I expand it to see the connections I have defined and then choose one and the underlying table from which is pulls its fields from and that I want in my report. I then double-click this table to choose it and get the error message: "Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error: Microsoft OLEDB Provider for SQL Server: Invalid object name 'dbo.rTkDept'". I am baffled by this since I double-clicked it. It exists. It can be seen.

I have no resources other than the help files at the moment and I am not able to figure this out.

Other info: My VB front-end uses ADO 2.6. I derived my OLE DB SQL Server connection string by creating a .TXT file and renaming it to .UDL and then double-clinking it. I believe this utility comes from MDAC 2.6.

Thank you for any help.

Brandon
